She began slowly tip-toeing through the living room and towards the basement entrance, careful not any noise so that she would be able to identify the strange noises. As she continued moving on, the noises became louder and louder. "Eeek! Flop! Bang! Eeek! Flop! Bang!". "Why, this is most peculiar," Shelly thought out loud, "it almost sounds as if there's a piece of machinery in the basement!" Excited by this thought, Shelly forgot all about being quiet and ran towards the basement. She flung the door open and stopped completely in her tracks. Before her was the most spectacular, entrancing white light. It was so white and so beautiful that Shelly felt as if time had stopped. She stood there in awe, and watched as a hazy rainbow mist slowly circled around her, surrounding her body in the most wonderful warmth. The fog kept winding itself around her like a vine, curling around her waist and through her fingers. Shelly felt as if every inch of her body had been engulfed in something indescribable. Just as the fog was closing in on the last bit of uncovered space...

The rooster was crowing as the first rays of sunshine peeked in across Shelly's bed. As she opened her eyes and gave a big yawn, she noticed the time. "Oh, no!," she thought. "I've overslept!"
  Quickly, she jumped out of bed, put on her slippers, grabbed her robe and ran down the stairs. When she entered the kitchen, nobody was there. Her heart began to pound a little as she wondered where everyone could be. Her Mom was always up fixing breakfast at this time and her Dad usually was sitting at the table with his coffee and reading the daily paper. So, where was everyone today?
  Just then, she heard a strange and unusual noise. It was coming from the basement. What should she do? She decided to...

They ran into the light. First, there was a bright flash, then everything went black.

"Paige? Paige? Are you okay?" Paige woke up.
"Ohh......I think I hit my head."
"That's because you did. You've been out for a long time now." Paige opened her eyes, and what she saw made her gasp. There were trees, and grass, and birds, but, they were...different. The trees were bright blue and pink. The grass was orange. And, they birds were... talking. They were singing about spring. Paige sat up.
"I really am dreaming..."
 "No, this is an alternate dimesion, similar to Earth." Paige looked to see a tall woman with firey red hair in a big ponytail with all black clothes standing before her.
"Who are you, and what happned to Maria?" Paige asked, getting scared.
"I told her to go on without you. I'll be taking you to the portal." The girl said, offering her hand to help Paige up. Paige took the hand, standing up. "Ready to go?" The girl asked.
"Yeah...and by the way, what's your name?" Paige asked as they started to walk.
"Rayla."

A while later, they came to a large thing that looked like a mirror. It was gaurded by large looking things.
"I must leave you now, good luck."
"No, please-" But Rayla was already gone. Paige took a deep breath, and approuched the guards.
"Who goes there?" One said.
"Ah, Paige, and I-"
"Where are you from?"
"Umm....Earth?" Paige said timidly.
"Ohhhh, you're the one that the fairies told use about. Well, go on in." Paige stepped through the 'mirror', and came out the other side to see Maria.
"Maria!" Paige shouted as she ran over to her.
"What a wierd day.." uh-oh, this seems so...familiar...Oh no! I'm right back where I started! I guess I'll have to go through this over and over and over again.

"What a wierd day..." Said Maria as she sighed and shaked her head. "You know what would be funny though?"
"What's that?" Replied Paige
"Well imagine this was just a dream. We'll almost be at the bee hive then suddenly we wake up".
"That's impossible. We can't both dream the same thing." Paige stared evily at Maria as she stared back with one of her 'Whatever' faces. "Oh so I'm not real am I? I'm just in your dream?!"
"No, no. I was just saying, it would be funny if it were a dream." Maria grinned and looked ahead and her mouth dropped. "Woah!" She gasped.
"Yes, finally we found it!" Paige pulled a really big smile then looked around, "But where's the compass? They said it would be here. Maria this is all your fault! I knew we should have never trusted those little faries."
They both looked around the bee hive, trying not to knock it. The faries were right; it was huge. Paige shielded her eyes because she saw an extremely bright, golden glow; she followed the glowing. She came to a bunch of leaves; all reddish and golden, but not that gold. She started trowing the leaves about, then...she saw it. She found the compass. She jumped around shouting "I found it! I found it!" Maria came running over, Paige was still jumping but this time, she knocked the bee hive.
Maria looked at her in shock and shouted, "RUNN!" They ran for their lives. Paige ran in the direction where the magical compass was pointing them in. They saw a big opening and then light. It was the end of the forest! They ran for lives so they could finally find their way home.
